Welcome to Crime Patterns and Analysis, the journal of the International Symposium on Environmental Criminology and Crime Analysis. This journal is the outgrowth of several years of discussion. After the ECCA 2007 conference, the website was purchased to house the journal. The journal will have three main sections. The first section is feature articles. These articles based on completed research using sophisticated methods and analysis. The second section is shorter or less developed articles. These are still peer reviewed, but in a quicker format. This is for information that should get to others quickly (like Science Magazine publishes on breaking findings) and preliminary findings of substantial work. This section would also have a place for “negative findings” so others may not follow the same dead-end trail already proven to not be fruitful. The final section is a kind of graffiti wall where people can sign in and post information relevant to the group. You can find the call for papers by clicking on the appropriate navigation link on the left side of this page. If you have suggestions and comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
